The Short Answer
Google Drive is storage with sharing attached. Every Google account gets 15 GB free, 100 GB costs $1.99 a month, and 2 TB costs $9.99 a month on the Google AI Plus plan. Anyone with a link can open a file without signing in. It is the cheapest way on this site to put a wedding somewhere, and the page says so plainly. What a Drive link is not is a delivery. The couple opens a folder grid with file names, a scaled down preview, and a download button, and the folder has no cover, no note, no brand, and no place in their wedding.
Wedibox Drops is the delivery step only. You upload from your phone or import a Drive folder, pick an opening and a palette, add your logo, and publish. The couple gets one link that opens inside the Wedibox gallery they keep, above the photos their guests uploaded. One plan from $9 a month with 100 GB, up to 3 TB at $54.
Pick Drops for the delivery if you want the couple to see your name, your cover, and your edit before they see a file list, and if you want the work to live in their wedding gallery for years. Keep Drive if you need cheap storage shared with Gmail and Photos, a folder a team can edit, or Docs and Sheets beside the files. Most photographers reading this should do both, and the section on importing shows how.
What Each Product Is
Google Drive storage is sold through Google One, and the space is shared with Gmail and Google Photos. On the day this page was checked, the plans page listed 15 GB free; Basic with 100 GB at $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year; Google AI Plus with 2 TB at $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year; and Google AI Pro with 5 TB at $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year, each shareable with up to five other people. For a studio, Google Workspace sells Business Starter at $7 per user a month on an annual commitment with 30 GB pooled per user, Standard at $14 with 2 TB per user, and Plus at $22 with 5 TB per user. Drive Help says a single file can be up to 5 TB, a file can be shared with up to 600 email addresses, and anyone with the link can open a file without signing in.
Wedibox Drops is the delivery tool inside Wedibox, the guest photo app used at 100,000+ weddings. A drop is one wedding. You create it, upload from your phone or import a folder, pick the opening and the palette, and publish. The couple gets one link. They open it on any phone or laptop with no app, watch the film in full quality, and download the originals when you allow it. There is one paid plan. Only the storage size changes the price, from 100 GB at $9 a month to 3 TB at $54, and every size includes your brand name and logo, eight openings, twelve palettes, your fonts, albums, and unlimited drops. See how a drop works for the five steps with real captures.
What the Couple Gets From a Drive Link
Open a shared Drive folder as a couple and you get a grid of thumbnails with file names like DSC_4471.jpg, a Google sign in button in the corner, and a download for the whole folder as a ZIP that Drive splits into parts when it is large. Video plays in Drive's preview, which Drive Help calls a scaled down version of the complete file. There is no cover, no names and date, no note from the person who shot it, and nothing that says whose work this is. The couple downloads what they can, and the link gets buried with the rest of the wedding emails.
A drop opens on your cover with the couple's names and the date, one of eight openings, your palette, your fonts, and your brand name and logo. The film streams in full quality in the browser. Albums sort the day. A note from you sits above the work. And the drop lives inside the Wedibox gallery the couple keeps, in its own section above the photos their guests uploaded with the wedding QR code, so the couple comes back to it for years. The loop below shows the gallery as the couple sees it: your section appears first, then the guest uploads collect under it.

The Download Limit Nobody Can Quote
Photographers who deliver through Drive know the error: "Too many users have viewed or downloaded this file recently." Drive Help lists it under download problems and says the restriction is temporary and typically resets within 24 hours. What Google does not publish is the number. There is no figure for how many downloads or how much traffic trips it, so there is no way to plan around it. A wedding video that a couple, two sets of parents, and the wedding party all download on the same evening is exactly the file that hits it.
Drops has no daily link cap to manage. The couple streams and downloads from the gallery, and your storage size is the only number you watch. Your first drop is free with 20 GB and 30 days to upload and edit, no card, and the couple keeps it after that. Drive's free 15 GB is shared with Gmail and Photos, so a full wedding of originals rarely fits in it.
Your Brand on Every Gallery
A Drive folder carries Google's name, Google's sign in prompt, and Google's layout. There is no way to put your logo, your colors, or a cover on it. Even a Workspace account changes the account name, not the folder the couple sees.
Every Wedibox drop carries your brand name, your handle, and your logo, at every paid size. You pick one of eight openings, one of twelve palettes, and the fonts. You choose the cover, sort the files into albums, and write a note to the couple. The preview updates as you type. Three of the eight openings are below.

What It Costs, and Why the Numbers Are Not the Point
Per gigabyte, Google wins and it is not close. Google One Basic is 100 GB for $23.88 a year paid monthly or $19.99 paid yearly. Wedibox Drops at 100 GB is $108 paid monthly or $90 paid yearly. At 2 TB, Google AI Plus is $119.88 a year paid monthly or $99.99 paid yearly, against $528 or $440 for Drops at 2 TB. If the question is where to keep every file you have ever shot, the answer is Drive, and Drops does not pretend otherwise.
The question Drops answers is different. Delivery storage holds only what the couple receives, not your raws and your backups, and the Drops price buys the gallery, the brand, the streaming, the couple's own Wedibox event, and no download limit to guess at. Google One's 100 GB is also shared with Gmail and Photos, so the usable delivery space is whatever those two leave over.
Both tables below are the published prices on the day this page was checked.

Where Google Drive Is the Better Choice
A comparison that concedes nothing convinces nobody. These are the real cases where Drive is the right call. If you are weighing the other file lockers and gallery products too, the Dropbox comparison, the Pixieset comparison, the ShootProof comparison, and the ClipFlo comparison run the same questions.
Archive and backup
Google One gives 2 TB for $9.99 a month, or 5 TB for $19.99, shared with up to five people and synced to every device. Drops tops out at 3 TB and holds deliveries, not raws. Keep your archive on Drive. Nothing on this page argues otherwise.
Working with a team on the same files
A second shooter, an editor, and a studio manager can all work in one Drive folder, with Docs and Sheets for the shot list and the timeline beside it, and Workspace adds pooled storage and admin controls. Drops is one login and one direction: from you to the couple. Collaboration before delivery is Drive's job.
Files that are not a wedding
Drive handles contracts, invoices, proposals, and the folder for every vendor you work with, and shares any of them with up to 600 addresses. Drops delivers finished weddings to couples. For everything else in the business, Drive is the simpler tool.
Already free, already there
Every couple and every photographer has a Google account, and 15 GB costs nothing. For a small engagement session or a short highlight reel under that size, a Drive link works and costs nothing. Drops earns its price on the full wedding, where the brand, the gallery, and the download limit matter.
How to Use Google Drive and Wedibox Drops Together
You do not have to leave Drive to deliver with Drops. The import copies a folder from Google Drive to the Wedibox servers, so your archive stays where it is and the couple gets a gallery instead of a file grid. It goes like this.
-
Start your free drop
Sign up with no card. Your first drop includes 20 GB and 30 days to upload and edit, and the couple keeps it after that.
-
Put the finals in one Drive folder
Put the delivered edit for one wedding in its own folder, photos and video together, the way you would have shared it. Leave the raws and the backups where they are.
-
Connect the folder in Drops
Wedibox copies the files on its own servers, so nothing passes through your phone, and the wedding lands as a drop ready to publish. Imported files count toward your Drops storage; nothing changes on the Drive side.
-
Publish under your brand
Pick a cover, a palette, and your fonts. Add your logo. Publish with or without an email, and send the couple one link.
-
Keep Drive for the archive
The drop is what the couple sees. Drive keeps holding everything else, and the next wedding starts the same way.
