Trouble uploading? Fixes for common problems

For guestsFor guests

Uploads from a crowded venue usually work on the first try. Wedibox retries stalled files automatically and shrinks oversized photos for you. When something still sticks, find your symptom below.

The upload is stuck or keeps failing

Venue wifi sags when 150 phones share it. Wedibox already retries each file up to three times with fresh upload links, so brief drops usually heal themselves.

  1. Keep the page open and your screen on until the progress bar finishes. Leaving the browser mid-upload interrupts it.
  2. If it fails (“Your internet connection seems unstable. Please check your connection and try again.”), switch from wifi to mobile data (or the reverse) and tap upload again.
  3. Still stuck? Upload in smaller batches: a few photos at a time instead of forty.
  4. Nothing urgent is lost: the link works after the wedding too. Upload from home wifi tomorrow.

A large video won’t go through

Big files are the slowest thing on a weak connection, and files over 3 GB are rejected outright (“File must be less than 3 GB”).

  1. Check the video’s size in your camera roll; trim the clip if it’s near the limit.
  2. Upload the video by itself, not bundled with photos.
  3. If it times out (“The upload timed out. Please check your connection and try again.”), wait for better signal, or save it for home wifi.
  4. No video option in the picker at all? The couple’s event accepts photos only.

iPhone photos (HEIC): do they work?

Yes. iPhones shoot HEIC by default and Wedibox accepts it. Files are converted automatically so the couple sees normal photos. Oversized photos (over 4 MB) are also compressed automatically before upload. You don’t need to change any iPhone settings. If a specific photo fails repeatedly, screenshot it and upload the screenshot as a last resort.

“Upload limit reached”

The couple’s plan has an upload cap and the collection is full (“Free plan upload limit reached”).

  1. Nothing you can do from your side. The couple can lift the cap by upgrading.
  2. Tell the couple; they’d rather know than lose your photos.
  3. Keep your photos. The link accepts uploads again as soon as they upgrade.

The upload password won’t work

The couple locked uploads behind a password and the entry doesn’t match (“Invalid password. Please try again.”).

  1. Find the password where the couple shared it, usually printed beside the QR code or in the invitation.
  2. Type it exactly: passwords are checked character for character, so watch capitalization and autocorrect.
  3. Still refused? Ask the couple or wedding party for the current password. It may have changed.

The page won’t open the photo picker

You’re probably inside Instagram’s or Facebook’s built-in browser, which blocks file access (“If you’re in the Facebook or Instagram app, please open the link in Safari or Chrome and try again.”).

  1. Tap the ⋯ menu in the corner of the in-app browser.
  2. Choose “Open in Safari” / “Open in Chrome” (or copy the link and paste it there).
  3. Upload from the real browser. It works normally there.
